A WELCOME

Welcome to the Knee Replacement Support Group Web Site.

We hope that by reading the following information you will be better able to handle a single or double knee replacement.

There are 30,000 knee/hip replacements of all kinds being done every year in Australia!

This website will enable you to email people who have had the operation and have lived to tell the tale!

You may also be able to phone “Survivors” or meet them in the flesh. It is really up to you.

When you have undergone surgery you may even like to join the group.

About me

Ross McBride

My name is Ross McBride. I had a full double knee replacement on 1 February 2007.

It is now April 2008 and I play quality doubles tennis, golf and walk 5 kms per day. I have just returned from a holiday in Egypt and Jordan and walked everywhere, including up and down mountains, steps, and including a 12 km walk and climb to the “Monastery” at Petra in Jordan (1100 metres high).

My surgeon was Ali Gursel and the operation was performed at the San Hospital, Wahroonga and rehab was at Hunters Hill Private Hospital.

Attached are email addresses of patients who have said they are willing give time helping you.

Best wishes, and look forward to a pain free future with lots of sport and exercise.
